Sub Terra is a board game in which you and a group of cavers try to escape a cave filled with horrors and hazards. Each turn has different phases one where players can choose actions to take, what a horror does and what hazard will they have to avoid and what are the consequences of those actions. It is pretty fast paced once you get the hang of it and ends up being pretty fun.
Sub Terra fits all eight mechanic categories very well, its easy to see which one goes where. For time there is a couple of examples with how its used, firstly the game progresses through tiles that get flipped as the game goes on they are all randomly stacked so once you draw the exit to the cave tile you can leave whenever. The second example of time here is the "out of time" card which is drawn as the last hazard card meaning if you haven't escaped yet by that point you instantly lose. Chance is a very large role in this game, every action you take is decided with a dice roll. If the roll is over four you get the positive outcome if its under four you get the negative one. For example players have a chance at risking a health point to get a third action point but if they roll under a four they lose a health and don't get anything. Skill in Sub Terra comes with time and knowing what the best move would be, say for example you have the leader as one of your cavers, since her passive ability is adding plus one on every role it would be smarter to exert yourself more since you have a better chance at a good outcome which helps your team. Space is confined as hexes on the board with ones flipped as the only ones you can move onto which confines you to the boundaries. There are a lot of procedures and actions in Sub Terra, one of many being the discover and move action where someone discovers another space and has to move onto it. Another example could be the squeeze function where if you need to get through a small crack you can spend two action points on getting through it. There is also a lot of rules in Sub Terra for example the game is split up into four phases all with different rule sets. in the action phase the rules say all players use there action points going in a clockwise circle. For the horror phases the horror(s) move a tile closer to the nearest player. In the hazard phase a hazard is drawn forcing different interactions to happen depending on which card had been drawn and what tiles are out. Lastly the end phase resets the cycle. So as you can see each phase has its own set of rules and unique things to it.

When I first started playing borderlands I was playing alone, the game was funny and had some nice gameplay but playing with friends made it way more enjoyable. It was easily worth the amount of money I spent on it since its an old game it goes on sale a lot and I got it for around 5 dollars. The story and side missions were all enjoyable and had a lot of enjoyable moments. I would easily recommend this game to anyone to play with some friends. The plot was there and definitely good with twists and plot points that really changed it up and were surprising the first time playing the game. The gameplay was pretty fun with tons of different weapons to change up the game play that were each unique. It was super goofy and had a lot of jokes but also some sad moments with deaths. The visuals are really nice and fit the genre well and make the scenes look really good. The animation was smooth and everyone was polished for a game that came out in 2014. The Hud was well organized and the leveling up was nice getting a skill point every level can really change up the game and how it is played. In conclusion I would give this a 10/10 and recommend it to anyone.
HADES is an indie rouge lite game based in the underworld of Greek mythology . You play as zagreus the son of hades trying to escape the Greek underworld as you go up higher to the top until you reach the overworld. Each level is very different from one another from the art and level design to the enemies and the attacks they use. The art design is beautiful with everything being very flushed out and detailed and all the animation is very fluid. The re playability in this game like most rouge likes is of the charts and as you play and the more you die you can slowly upgrade yourself until what used to be hard becomes way easier and you get further. The game can get pretty difficult during some boss fights or when you are on a new floor for the first time so it can get pretty intense, there's a few moments that had my heart racing while playing. This game is really good and has tons of unique voice lines and interaction for each dialogue and its quite rare to hear the same twice, with a pretty solid story I have to say this game is a gem for sure, Overall I would give this game a 9/10
I think among us is an amazing game that people used to sleep on before its new surge in popularity. The game is up to 10 people with as many as 3 imposters trying to stop the crew mates from completing there tasks without getting caught. No one is allowed to talk until a body is found and reported or if a meeting is called. This is great because you need to wait to give the information you've been finding and everyone has to talk to vote someone out. If all imposters are voted out the crew mates win and that is there time to do it. This game can be frustrating or insanely satisfying. If you're good at lying you can get your way out of being accused and voted out. That adds a interesting element of suspense to the game as no one can trust each other or really be together. The game is without a doubt worth the money, its only 5 dollars and I have already put about 20 hours into it without being tired of it. It is best if you have a big group of friends to play with. The visuals are cartoon are funny with the people like beans and no arms. The interface is pretty easy to use with only a few buttons needed it can be all played on mouse or you can choose mouse and key board. The game never has really crashed on me and runs pretty well. Overall I think this game is totally worth buying and is a total 4 stars out of 5 and I would recommend to anyone.
League of legends is definitely the game I have been playing most of all over this lock-down and I gotta say I like the game. Seeing as the game is free I would definitely recommend it to someone but with warning, The game is pretty fun I cant deny that but when I am having a bad game or my team is doing bad it is quiet upsetting and without a doubt puts me in a bad mood. The game is a 5v5 team multiplayer moba. So if one person on the team is doing really bad it can make the game really hard and the community is very toxic so people will do this on purpose or leave games make fun of people when they do bad. The game is really just one map that takes place for every game to take place its pretty good size for the game and has 3 lanes and a "jungle" that has monsters around it. The games difficultly really depends on what rank and people you go against so when I play with my trash friends its easier because we go against lower level people but when I play with my good friends it can be kinda hard but its all dependent. The game play is fun almost every character has 4 abilities each one different and with more characters coming out and old ones getting reworked to match the new ones. The only skills is to know when to kill minions knowing game knowledge and having a good map awareness. The game is logical and takes some thinking instead of just running in and like dying. The graphics match up well with the games theme and the character design is amazing with a lot of detail going into each person they are really thought about and fleshed out. You are able to customize the controls and make whatever key binds. The menus are nice and straight forward. The map is a big part and definitely helps the game a lot its in the bottom corner either side depending on what you choose and it shows areas of map with vision so its useful. So in conclusion the game is good and i enjoy it but there are some problems with the community but for a free game its overall a great game to play when you have free time and I would recommend it to anyone who is curious about it.
Borderlands is a series of games I never could play growing up because my parents heard it was the most violent game out there or something like that. So I got into the game a little late by getting the handsome collection for free because of the free games from ps4 monthly. When I first started playing I knew about most of the game already because of my cousins unhealthy obsession with the game series. I started my first play through as the mercomancer class which she revolved around high movement and fast and high damage output. The game is a real treat with many unique classes all with different skill trees to change the way you wanna play. For example Gaige The Mecroamncer had a class to make her main ability her "deathtrap" help her deal damage in battle or support her and another tree would be the one about her most important ability anarchy, The whole tree would revolve around it giving you more starting stacks multiplying the amount of stacks you could have and many others. The thing it did was per each magazine of ammo completely used you would gain 1 stack which would make you do more damage but lose some accuracy so there is a trade off to this but if you re lode early but one of the skills in that tree is you wouldn't lose those stacks if you re lode early. So there is a lot of variations to play the game. The settings and graphics look great and all the areas feel really different from one another. The game is really polished and I never ran into any game breaking glitches during my play through. The story is pretty good with it being pretty funny and having lots of good characters and stories or missions from them. It also has some good twists and deaths. The sound from the game was good none of the tracks are good enough to be played by themselves but fit in the moment they were used and the sounds from the guns were unique and worked well. Overall the game is really good and well polished and I would recommend for anyone.
Hollow knight is a amazing game filled to the brim with content seeing as it is an indie game with a limited amount of resources and developers. The game puts you in with a short cut scene and gives you only the basics you need to help you survive and your adventure through Hollow Nest, The game was very fun to play because I had beaten blood born before they both had things in common. It was another hard combat platforming game where you would have to go through and kill a bunch of enemies and then a boss, except for once you die you go back to your last bench you rested on you lose all of your money and you have to get your soul back, also after dying depending on what charms you were using some of them can permanently break. Your soul would fight you and so would the enemies around you this was a good mechanic in the game but very infuriating if you died in a boss room and you had to fight it there because if you die without getting your soul back all your Geo(money) is gone for good. The story and lore in this game is truly amazing but it is quite hard to understand because of this games lack of cut scenes everything is in hidden areas or backdrops or during boss fights and I was defiantly lost until I watched a few YouTube videos about it but that made the community for this game all the better with people analyzing everything that happens to get the bigger picture and speaking of big i'm gonna start talking about the world of Hollow Nest. Hollow Nest is very huge uncovering its map slowly as the player gets more and more into the game by purchasing maps from an NPC who hides around the map which can be heard by his subtle humming melody, that tells you that everything will be ok and that you wont be lost anymore until you reach the next area. The areas are huge with each one having a different array of foes with different moves and abilities. Its visuals are very good with immersive things that make the characters look like they belong in the game all the animations are very very smooth in my 20 hours of the game I have never seen a bug or glitch that breaks immersion. Overall this game is definitely a must play for anyone who is a fan of the game genre.
