Going into DDA 2 I am very excited to go into more developed ideas and techniques. This year we will be focused on mostly or all of the year on 3ds max, an app that I really like to work with and want to be better with. I am ready to learn new ways to work and different tricks to help make it look better and more detailed. I feel like this is going to be a very important year to understand because the next will be building off of it. I am very excited and am looking forward to this years work very much.

This was my first time working with the torus shape so I was kinda nervous about it because I didn't really know what to do but I knew I wanted to do this. So the first thing I did was make the outer arena. One big grey torus and for the seating I made a smaller blue one inside. The field was made up of a cylinder that I had to fill in just enough so it would look realistic and like a grass field. The next thing I did was make a goal that I had to make a cube and then pinch down the back of it to make it have the look of a goal and then I copy and pasted it to make the same goal. Then the last thing I had to do was make a sphere that acts as the ball on the field.
-Learned how to use the torus shape -Got better with the extrude tool -Really got the hand and I feel like I mastered the basics of 3ds max Once summer started I started playing around with 3Ds max to experiment with some different tools and shapes. So I decided my first project I would actually make would be a penny board, something small but would also push me farther so that I would have to use new tools and techniques. When making it I started off with cylinders that I had rotated to use for the wheels and a thin box for the board. The new skill I ended up learning was after changing the box to and editable poly I used to chamfer down the front of the board to get a more pointed end to make it look more relativistic. For the back of the board I did the same but the dragging up the end to make it look like an overlap kind of design. Now school is out and I can use more time on improving and being free with whatever I want to make. -I learned how to use the chamfer tool better - School is over - I can make whatever and improve my skills |
